Book review of the book ”Red” by Libby Gleeson

The first thing that happens in this book is that a girl wakes up in a mud puddle and is almost drowning, but suddenly a boy saves her. When she got saved she didn’t remember a thing of her past. But the only thing she remember is two words and that was Jay Martin and she didn’t know why she was saying it. Both the girl and the boy didn’t know what has happened to the city, they thought that it may have been some kind of natural disaster. The story takes place in Sydney, Australia in present time.

The book is a mystery book because of all the unknown information and everything is just so hokey.

The most important chapter of this book is when Red and Peri (the two main characters) find Reds best old friend. Red remembered more and more after her friend told her what has happened and things about her. She got some flashbacks now and then about her past. Red had lost her whole family but when she got to her old friends house she used a laptop to see what is on the usb stick she had around the neck, and it was a film of her dad that told her that she couldn’t give it to no other than the commission in Melbourne, not to the police not to anyone.

The two main characters in this book are Peri and Red.
Red is a girl who got found in a mud puddle by Peri, Red got her name from Peri cause of her red hair(just because she didn’t remember anything) I think that both of them are like 15 years old. I would say that Red is a kind of tough girl just because of her actions in the book. Peri is even more tougher, he knows how to survive on his own. His mom died and his dad got in to alcoholic problems so Peri decide to leave him and live on his own. So he knows how to survive and he’s quite tough with Red in the beginning, when Red didn’t stop saying Jay Martin he slapped her to get her quiet. Their relation to each other is quite weird because it feels like they have some kind of relation that they don’t know about.

They're often outside in the book because there are not many buildings left in the city.
I think the author wants to tell the reader that nothing is impossible they started from just two words and then got to a really big achievement.

My overall opinion about this book is that it is one of the best books I have read. It is just full of questions and mysteries that you just want to know, so you just keep on reading because you really want to know what is going to happen next. There's always something happening in this book and I love the ending, because everything got good again.

But the thing I didn’t enjoy or like very much was the beginning, it took way too long for me as a reader to know what has happened.

I would actually recommend this book to people who like mysterious books. And for people who want to read this book, I can tell you that it is a quite easy language there not using very difficult words.

The title of the book was actually really good, it both had the main character's name in it, but when I first saw the cover of the book I thought it was about very much blood and so on but it wasn’t about that.
